When we first created Yallingup Zinc back in 2016, the goal was simple: make a natural zinc product that would hold up during long days in the ocean and outdoors, while still being gentle on skin and mindful of the environment.
Every ingredient in our formula has been chosen for a reason — to help create a long-lasting, nourishing barrier that helps shield skin from wind, salt and harsh outdoor conditions.

Non-Nano Zinc Oxide
Zinc oxide is the key ingredient in our formula.
It’s a naturally occurring mineral that sits on the surface of the skin, creating a visible barrier between your skin and the elements.
We use non-nano zinc oxide, meaning the particles are large enough to remain on the skin rather than being absorbed. This allows it to do what it does best — form a reliable layer that helps shield skin during long days outside.

Shea Butter
Shea butter is known for its deeply nourishing qualities.
Derived from the nuts of the shea tree, this natural butter helps keep skin feeling soft and comfortable, even after hours in the wind, salt and sun.
It also contributes to the smooth texture of our zinc, helping it glide onto the skin easily.
Cocoa Butter
Cocoa butter is another natural ingredient that helps support skin comfort.
Rich and protective, it helps create the firm texture that allows Yallingup Zinc to stay put during active outdoor conditions, while also helping prevent the formula from feeling dry or brittle.
Olive Oil
We use high-quality olive oil in our blend to help balance the richness of the butters.
Olive oil is lightweight and nourishing, helping the zinc spread evenly across the skin while keeping the formula comfortable for all-day wear.
Beeswax
Beeswax plays an important role in the structure of our zinc.
It helps give the formula its firm consistency, allowing it to stay visible and resilient during surfing, sport and outdoor adventures.
Beeswax also helps lock in moisture and contributes to the durability of the product.
Lanolin
Lanolin is a naturally derived ingredient known for its ability to help skin stay soft and conditioned in tough environments.
For people spending long periods in the ocean or wind, lanolin helps support skin comfort and prevents the formula from feeling too dry.
Natural Mineral Clays
We use a blend of mineral-rich clays, including:
Green clay
Red clay
Fuller's earth
These clays help give Yallingup Zinc its distinctive texture and durability.
They also contribute to the tinted appearance of the product and help the formula stay in place during active conditions.
Natural Mineral Oxides
The subtle tint in Yallingup Zinc comes from natural mineral oxides.
These provide the colour that allows the zinc to blend more naturally with different skin tones, rather than leaving the bright white appearance often associated with traditional zinc products.
